At Ourisman Chrysler Dodge Jeep® of Bowie, one of our main concerns is the safety of our drivers during the winter months. As we all know, the Mid-Atlantic gets unpredictable weather conditions that greatly affect how you drive on the roads of the greater Bowie, MD area. So to help you prepare, we crafted up a short list of tips to keep you safe while driving during winter.
Snow On The Ground
Whether you’re driving a new or pre-owned Jeep, for example, roads can get slippery when snow is on the ground, and if you’re not paying attention, you can lose control instantly. Our best advice is to stay focused and pay attention to where you’re going and go at it slowly.
Ice On The Ground
The best possible advice when there’s ice on the ground is to stay home and wait until the roads are cleared up. But we know that sometimes it’s impossible to stay home, so if you do have to drive on ice, make sure you don’t use your cruise control and if you’re going through very steep roads, drive slowly. Stop and go gradually so you don’t lose traction.
Before driving out in the snow or cold, make sure your tires are inflated, you gas tank isn’t completely empty, and always wear your seat belt anytime you’re inside a car.
Our sales staff cares about your well-being, and if you’re interested in finding a car that can best handle the rough road winter conditions, we can match you with plenty of cars that are equipped to handle all types of roads, like the 2018 Jeep Wrangler as an example. We’re also available for any questions you may have so call or visit us. We’re located at 2406 Crain Highway.
